Our Business Management System (BMS)

CBC uses a fully accredited and independently audited BMS, certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and ISHOS 18001.

BMS Governance
All our projects follow our BMS and our mandatory controls which define our minimum standards. For CBC these include; business requirements, company group Expectations and Standards, legislative obligations, customer and client requirements and industry best practice. Only under exceptional circumstances, such as a client instruction, will we depart from our minimum standards. In these circumstances, variations will only be implemented following authorisation by a member of our Senior Management Team.

BMS Scope
We will apply the BMS to all our projects. Where we undertake projects in Joint Venture then a strategic decision will be made as to which JV organisation will become the lead partner. Where CBC is not selected to be the lead JV partner then a due diligence exercise will be undertaken to verify that the JV partner’s management systems meet our minimum standards. Due diligence verification will be undertaken by competent individuals from within CBC who will raise areas of non-conformance for our Senior Management team to approve.

BMS Structure
The structure within our BMS is based around eight levels of information, comprising:

• Company Policy – which records our overall commitment towards a subject area
  
• Company Standard – which defines the mandatory minimum standards
  
• Business Processes – the series of steps defining the sequence and where Planned Controls must be applied
• Company Procedure and Guidance – the detailed description of how to implement each planned control
• Standard Forms – the mandatory record of complying with a planned control
• Template Forms – the minimum standard for a record which may be added to
• Toolbox Talks – the minimum standard for undertaking a Toolbox Talk
• Reference Material – any supporting background information and exemplars.
