Chris Britton Consultancy (CBC) was founded in 1990, with the vision of blending practical Transport Asset Engineering knowledge with insight and experience in designing and implementing Information Solutions.

The consultancy has gone from strength to strength and diversified in response to a changing market.  We now offer a broader range of transport capabilities, based on extensive national, local and international experience.  CBC’s essential core values for customer service and high quality specialist consultancy have remained largely unchanged.

We specialise in providing reliable, professional and sustainable transport asset solutions, both in the UK and internationally.

In July 2007, the company announced the successful completion of an acquisition by Balfour Beatty. CBC's Head Office is in Godalming, Surrey, and we also have bases in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and in Kings Hill, Kent. CBC continues to trade as a separate entity and retains its independence when giving advice to third party clients.

Our expertise in transport asset management and our involvement with projects at a national and international level gives clients the reassurance that our advice is indeed state-of-the art. Our specialist consultants are attuned to the needs of both engineering and lay audiences, have a high level of IT knowledge, and can advise clients on the specification and use of information systems to improve the efficiency of their business. We do not act as an agent for particular software or hardware suppliers, thus maintaining the independence of view expected of us by our clients.

In recent years, we have expanded our traditional asset based consultancy services to include Sustainability, Biodiversity and Environment, and have been at the forefront of developing Asset Management principles and practice in the highways sector. We have been responsible for facilitating and drafting several national and international standards and best practice guides in this arena. We have also been successful in the modelling associated with ground-breaking long-term contracts for road maintenance and management using Private Finance.

The relationships that our consultants build up with clients are a key factor in delivering the right service, in a timely and efficient way to meet client's needs.
